Versace Eros Flame Eau de Parfum

The original Versace Eros is a fresh, aquatic fragrance — mint and tonka bean, cool and clean, built for warm days. Eros Flame, created by perfumer Olivier Pescheux, is its opposite in almost every respect. Where Eros opens cool and fresh, Flame opens with Italian Lemon, Tangerine, Bitter Orange and Madagascar Black Pepper — a warm, spiced citrus that immediately signals a different temperature and mood. Wild Rosemary in the opening adds an aromatic, slightly Mediterranean quality that makes the spiced citrus feel more complex and less predictable than a standard pepper-and-lemon accord.

The heart of Pepperwood, Geranium and Rose is well-constructed — pepperwood adds a woody spiciness that reinforces the pepper opening, geranium gives a green freshness that stops the fragrance from becoming too dense, and rose facets add a restrained floral quality that softens without feminising. The base is where Eros Flame reaches its full depth: Texas Cedar (dry and pencil-shaving, distinct from Atlas or Virginian cedar), Haitian Vetiver (earthy and smoky, considered among the finest vetiver sources in the world), Mountain Oak Moss, Patchouli and Sandalwood together build a deep, warm, richly textured foundation. Tonka Bean and Vanilla at the base add sweetness and longevity. The result is a substantial, confident evening fragrance with excellent projection and remarkable staying power for its concentration. The 200ml is particularly good value for a regular wearer. If Eros is the daytime signature, Flame is unambiguously the evening one.

How to Apply

Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck, chest. Eros Flame projects well — two to three sprays is sufficient for most occasions. The citrus and pepper opening fades within thirty minutes; the cedar, vetiver and oak moss base develops over the first hour and lasts twelve hours or more on skin.
