Burberry Hero Eau de Parfum for Men 100ml

Burberry Hero EDP is the darker, more serious counterpart to the original Burberry Hero EDT — where the EDT is a clean, fresh masculine, the EDP goes somewhere altogether different. Created by Aurélien Guichard and launched in 2022, it opens not with citrus but with Pine Needle and Olibanum — the same frankincense resin that appears in YSL Y EDT, but here used in much greater prominence. Pine Needle has a sharp, green, resinous quality — not the soft, cosy pine of a Christmas candle but something crisper, more austere and more structural. Together with Olibanum, the opening reads as cold forest air and church incense, which is a genuinely unusual place to begin a mainstream men’s EDP.

The heart of Benzoin and Incense builds on the resinous character established in the opening rather than contrasting with it. Benzoin is a warm, balsamic resin with a slightly sweet, vanilla-adjacent quality — it softens the austerity of the pine and olibanum opening and introduces warmth and depth without sweetness. Incense adds a smoky, slightly sacred quality that keeps the heart serious and considered. The base is the most distinctive element of the entire composition: three distinct cedars — Atlas Cedar (dry, woody, slightly pencil-shaving), Himalayan Cedar (warmer, creamier, with a woody-spicy character), and Virginia Cedar (clean, fresh, slightly green) — each contributing a different facet of cedar’s character and together creating a woody base of remarkable depth and complexity. The dark amber bottle with gold Burberry branding is deliberately understated — the fragrance is the statement, not the packaging. Four to six hours of longevity as an EDP; best worn close to the skin with two or three sprays to pulse points.

How to Apply

Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck, chest. The pine and olibanum opening is most vivid in the first fifteen minutes before the benzoin heart softens and warms it — the triple cedar base develops fully over the first hour and lasts through the evening.
