The Scent

Only The Brave opens with lemon, mandarin and coriander. The lemon and mandarin give a clean, bright citrus opening; coriander seed (not the leaf — in perfumery, coriander is used for its seed, which has a warm, slightly spiced and woody-citrus quality that bridges the citrus top notes into the woody heart, rather than the sharp, herbal quality of coriander leaf/cilantro). The heart is violet leaf, labdanum resinoid and rosemary. The original Only The Brave EDT is the lighter, fresher and more versatile entry in the line — the citrus-and-violet-leaf top gives it a clean opening, and the woody-amber base is warm but not heavy. The Only The Brave Tattoo (2012) is a significantly richer and more oriental composition, with a tobacco water pipe accord and benzoin in the base making it a warmer, heavier fragrance suited to cooler weather and evening wear.
