Calvin Klein Eternity for Men was launched in 1990, created by Carlos Benaïm and Alberto Morillas — a co-creation that deserves both names. Eternity for Men is an aromatic fougère in the classical sense — built on the Lavender-citrus-aromatic-herb structure that defines the fougère masculine tradition, at a moment in 1990 when the genre was at the height of its commercial influence. Calvin Klein — founded in New York in 1968, one of the defining American fashion and fragrance houses of the late 20th century — had already established itself as a fragrance innovator with Obsession for Men (1986), and Eternity for Men continued that trajectory, followed by the landmark CK One (1994, by Morillas and Caledón Mane), which became one of the best-selling fragrances of the 1990s and established the unisex masculine category. The base of Sandalwood, Musk, Vetiver and Amber provides the clean, warm, woody finish that has kept Eternity for Men accessible and wearable across three and a half decades.
